Second time around?

I'm not first person to notice that there's more than a passing resemblance between both the face and the artistic style of Guiseppe Arcimboldo 1527-1593

and Maurits Cornelis Escher 1898–1972

am I?

New CD Release!

“Two Sticks Are Better Than One”
is a collection of live and studio recordings of songs enjoyed around the hearth-fire of the Anderida Gorsedd at their biennial camps.

It features songs by Damh the Bard, Paul Mitchell, Kate & Corwen and myself, but most amazingly - tribute act: Pamh & Gramh the Bards.

It contains the song "He’s Only Human" - written entirely by Greg Draven and myself.

It bears some small resemblances to a song by Damh the Bard, but this is entirely coincidental and his legal team haven't been able to prove anything yet.

All proceeds will be used to repair and restore the Long Man of Wilmington.

Buy it here: Anderida Bards CD!

New - My Own Online Shop!

As you may know, I put my album, 'Summerama!' on iTunes and Amazon aaaages ago (about 2 months). Since then, at least ten folks have told me they've bought tracks / the whole album online, but I haven't seen a single penny! I lie - this week, I actually was paid a single penny (which one of my songs was that for...)

So - my friend, Damh told me about Bandcamp. They provide a shop front for music downloads and all the money goes immediately into the PayPal account of the artist.

How cool is that?!

Your listeners can listen to all of the tracks online too.

Needless to say, I have done that and my online store can be found here.

You can also access it by clicking the photo of me at the top right hand corner of the screen.

And...

Earth Song at Lynwood Gardens...

I love Lynwood Gardens - there's a very groovy bunch of guys and gals who look after this little oasis of grennery in the midst of Sheffields City Centre. Their Harvest Festival had lots of entertainers throughout the day, workshops, apple pressing, BBQ, stalls, and Cake!

The wind in the trees prompted me to play this song...

Store Links...

A couple of people have had problems using the retail links widget from ReverbNation, so I've made some permanent links on the right hand column of this blog to my Amazon and iTunes stores.

Hope that helps and thanks for the feedback. :-)

Seasons greetings...

I have thoroughly enjoyed this summer season - some amazing experiences and memories that I will always treasure. :-)

This coming time of year - Autumn, Fall, Samhain is always a weird one for me.

It's the beginning of the year for some of my friends and the beginning of the end of it for others.

I just want to extend my love to everyone who follows this blog and hope that through this topsy-turvy season of change, you can can keep hold of whatever keeps you sane and moving forward.

It will pass, all things that come to pass, come, then pass.

Let's remember we're all in the same boat and hold on to each other. x

Josephine Mary Newman 1932-2009

My Mum passed away recently and today we held her funeral at Chorley Latter-Day-Saint church.

My Mum was amazing.

I feel really lucky to have had her as a Mum.

The church was nearly full and people came from all over the country to celebrate her life.

We have made a memorial blog to her at http://josephinemarynewman.wordpress.com/

If you have liked any of my contributions, I hope you will take some time to look at the site - I owe so much of who I am to her.

Rest in peace, Mum. x
